Holy Cross/Atwater, CA

Holy Cross in Atwater, CA is currently undergoing a remodeling project. Groundbreaking for the remodeling project took place February 2008, which included a groundbreaking service and celebration dinner.

Much of the construction is being done by members of the congregation and Laborers for Christ. Laborers for Christ is the Synod's church-construction group, which uses mostly retired workers and on-site volunteers to keep costs of building low. The Laborers will live in Atwater in this motor home until the project is complete.

People from the congregation took time out of their weekends to help with the construction process.

The project includes a new connecting hallway, new handicapped accessible bathrooms, a new entryway.

Several congregation work days have been held since the remodeling started. Many members have taken time out of their Saturday to take part in this project.

On August 10, 2008, Holy Cross celebrated the completion of their remodeling project. This is a view of the new entryway.

The celebration included a service of thanksgiving as well as a dedication outside the new entryway.
